Yampa Valley High School serves students who are seeking a learning environment that can better meet their personal and educational goals. Our school facilitates a supportive learning community that respects all individuals and their overall well-being.
YVHS is an accredited public school in the Steamboat Springs School District. There is no cost for attendance. Any high school aged student living in Routt county is encouraged to apply for admission.

Steamboat Springs High School has received a STEM grant from the Toshiba America Foundation (TAF) to support the expansion of hands-on engineering opportunities for students through the addition of advanced 3D scanning technology.

Claire Shea, a senior at Steamboat Springs High School, has been recognized as the Rotary Club of Steamboat Springs April Student of the Month for her exceptional leadership, academic achievement, and commitment to serving her school and community.

Middle school students from Steamboat Springs to Carbondale-area schools competed in the 2026 National Civics Bee® regional competition on April 30. The event was hosted by the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce and Youthentity in partnership with the Colorado Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the Daniels Fund and the Civic Trust of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
